Bonn has an outstanding range of museums, exhibition halls and galleries, both in terms of quantity and quality.
The Museum Mile (“Museumsmeile”) with the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany, the admission-free House of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kunstmuseum Bonn, the Deutsches Museum Bonn and the Museum Koenig are popular with art and culture lovers from Germany and abroad. The five museums are located in close proximity to each other and present outstanding exhibitions on topics from the natural sciences, technology, art and contemporary and cultural history.
You can reach the Museumsmeile from our hotel in about 30 minutes’ walk through Bonn’s Südstadt, which is considered one of the best-preserved Gründerzeit districts in Germany. By underground, the Museumsmeile is only a 6-minute ride from Bonn’s main railway station.
In our direct neighbourhood, only about 300 metres away, is the LVR LandesMuseum, which offers a unique view of the cultural history of the Rhineland. Other top-class museums such as the former home and studio of August Macke, the Arithmeum, the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Haus, the FrauenMuseum, the Stadtmuseum and many more are also within walking distance.
